The Cízek surname originated from the name of a small singing bird
The Czech spelling of the surname has a v shaped accent mark( a hacek) over the C and the z that my computer keyboard will not make.
Frantiska (spelt with a hacek over the s)was from a town called Kamenne Zehrovice, located about 25 miles west of the city of Prague. Back when Frantisek was born the town was located in Bohemia, Austrian Empire. The area is now the Czech Republic. Frantisek's occupation on his grandson's baptism was a mistra kamenického (mistr kamenicky english spelling). A mistr kamenicky is the man who went through the process of apprenticeship, learning to work with the stone. He learned to cut the stone as it was needed to build the houses.
